FAQs
What is virtual counseling?
Virtual therapy offers the flexibility to access professional mental health support from the comfort of your own home. It’s a convenient, confidential, and accessible way to receive the care you need—no commute, no waiting rooms, just a safe space to talk and work through challenges at your own pace.
How many sessions will I need for counseling?
The number of counseling sessions a person needs can vary depending on their goals, challenges, and the nature of the issues they’re addressing. Some individuals may find significant progress after just a few sessions, while others may require ongoing support over a more extended period to work through deeper or more complex concerns. Typically, people may start with weekly or biweekly sessions and adjust as they feel better or achieve their goals.
What is the cost of counseling?
Rasti Counseling Services, PLLC is in-network with Aetna and Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance. We are also a Clear Pricing Project (CPP) provider with the North Carolina State Health Plan. Before starting therapy, check your insurance coverage to determine your cost (deductible or co-pay).
If you are not a member of the insurance providers above, I have a self-pay rate of $150 per session (60 minutes). I can provide a Superbill if you would like to apply your fee towards out-of-network benefits with your insurance provider.
If you utilize the self-pay option, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) from me. A GFE document estimates the expected costs for services, including counseling, based on your specific treatment needs. It outlines the fees you can expect for each session, helping you understand the financial aspects of therapy upfront. In counseling, the GFE ensures transparency and allows you to make informed decisions about your care. This ensures no surprises and promotes trust in your therapeutic journey.
Is counseling confidential?
Counseling is confidential, meaning everything you share with me is kept private and secure. Strict ethical and legal guidelines bind therapists to protect your privacy. What you discuss in therapy stays between you and I, with a few exceptions, such as if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others. I will explain the limits of confidentiality at the start of your first session so you can feel safe and comfortable sharing openly.
In addition, all records and virtual sessions are held on a HIPAA-compliant platform called Simple Practice. Your privacy is of the utmost importance to me, and the goal is to create a trusting environment where you can freely express yourself without fear of judgment or breach of privacy.
