Immigration Evaluations

Clinical Mental Health Assessments for Asylum, Hardship, VAWA, and U-Visa Cases

in North and South Carolina

Immigration can be challenging, stressful, and emotional. Whether you’re seeking asylum, a hardship waiver, protection under VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) or U-Visa program, you deserve a compassionate professional who gets both the legal and the emotional. As a daughter of an immigrant, I’m deeply passionate about supporting individuals through this process. At my practice, you’ll be treated with care, empathy, and respect. I provide immigration evaluations that give you an understanding of your case and guidance so you can move forward.

Asylum Cases

Seeking asylum in the U.S. means escaping violence, persecution, or unimaginable hardship in your home country. The asylum process is complicated and personal, requiring legal documentation and emotional and psychological support. Our immigration evaluations provide a safe and confidential space for you to tell your story. With a sensitive approach, we evaluate the trauma you may have experienced and the psychological harm that could happen if you were forced to return to a country where you fear for your life. This evaluation is key to your asylum case so the court can understand why you need protection.

Hardship Waivers

A hardship waiver might be part of the process if a loved one is being deported. This waiver allows your loved one to stay in the U.S. if deportation would cause you and/or your children extreme hardship. Our evaluations look at the emotional, psychological, and familial impacts of deportation. We will assess the significant difficulties you or your family would face if you were to be separated and provide professional and accurate documentation to support your case.

VAWA Cases

The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) protects individuals who have been abused by a U.S. citizen or permanent resident spouse, parent, or child. If you’re applying for VAWA protection, you need documentation that proves the emotional and psychological harm you’ve suffered. We provide professional evaluations that focus on the trauma, stress, and emotional impact of intimate partner violence. Together, we will make sure the court understands the abuse so you can move towards safety and a life free of violence.

U-Visas

U-Visas are for individuals who have been victims of certain crimes and are helping law enforcement investigate or prosecute those crimes. The U-Visa process is for victims, but it can also be emotional as it requires you to face the trauma of the crime. Our evaluations are designed to assess the emotional and psychological impact of the crime you’ve experienced. We will help you document the effects of the crime on your mental health so the court can understand your situation.

Why Mental Health Assessments Matter in Legal Cases

Mental health assessments are essential in immigration cases because they give the court a deeper understanding of the emotional and psychological impact of an individual’s experiences. Immigration cases, especially asylum, hardship waivers, VAWA, and U-Visas, involve complex and painful circumstances—whether it’s fleeing violence, dealing with trauma, or experiencing the emotional impact of family separation. A mental health evaluation provides evidence for legal teams to make a strong case for why a client deserves protection, relief, or a waiver. By documenting the mental and emotional harm of these experiences, we ensure the court can see the whole picture of your situation.

Why Choose Me?

At my practice, I know that immigration cases are more than just legal processes; they are personal and often involve years of hardship, fear, and trauma. I take pride in providing compassionate professional evaluations to support your case. My goal is not just to help you navigate the immigration process but to make sure your story is heard, understood, and seen. I am with you every step of the way, providing a safe space and a thorough evaluation.

What is the Commitment and Cost?

On average, evaluations take about 10 hours to complete. There are two interview sessions (1-1.5 hours each) and a lengthy report written after the second session.

During the first session, I will focus on gathering details about your case and discuss the emotional and psychological impact of your experiences. The second session is typically a follow-up to clarify any information and provide more in-depth support to help me prepare your report. The report includes a thorough evaluation of the emotional and psychological impact of your experiences, with detailed documentation that supports your case. It is designed to provide a clear picture of how your experiences have affected your mental health, helping your legal team present a strong case.

The total cost is $1,000 and includes both meetings and the write-up. If you have any questions or need more information about how my evaluations can support your immigration case, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m here to help and guide you through this process.
